Contemporary architecture is an umbrella term. By definition, contemporary architecture is that built from the 60s to the present day. This movement encompasses several styles that want to differentiate themselves from modern architecture: neoclassical, postmodernism, neo-futurist, and many others. The Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao is one of the most famous contemporary buildings. From the deconstruction genre, the style is different from its function: to be a museum. Frank Gehry's creation has a zany side and has rarely been seen. This work is composed of materials such as titanium, glass, and limestone. The undulating, spiral, and flowering shape contrasts enormously with the neighborhood's buildings. Defying the laws of weightlessness, the public remains in awe of this building. Its interior, on three levels, gives life to memorable and prestigious exhibitions around modern and contemporary art. Initiated by former President François Mitterrand, the pyramid of the Louvre Museum is typical of contemporary architecture. Architect Ieoh Ming Pei was selected for this project named Grand Louvre. His idea was to contrast the historical and new monuments, which correspond perfectly to one of the characteristics of neoclassicism. The concept from the 19th century, aiming to make a pyramid, was therefore taken up. This architecture has 5 pyramids, including an inverted one observable when we enter the work of Ieoh Ming Pei. The latter has 673 glasses and zircon. Seoul, South Korea, is home to the Dongdaemun Design Plaza multifunctional complex. Designed by Zaha Hadid, the design and high-tech side is remarkable. Neo-futuristic in appearance, characteristic of the architect, curves are everywhere on the building. Compared to a "silver spaceship," it is a pole of design, fashion and a place to visit. The objective was to create a sustainable and ecological building visible through the accessible green roof. This center was built with aluminum, steel, and stone. Different spaces host children's activities, multiple events, and museums ranging from design to history. In Taipei, the capital of Taiwan, contemplate one of the most insane architectural projects, Taipei 101. With a height of 509 meters, the skyscraper was, until 2009, the tallest and is the largest eco-construction in the world. This building was designed to withstand typhoons and earthquakes. A ball of 660 tons, visible on three floors, can detect the vibrations of a possible earthquake. The tower was built on feng shui and Buddhism principles while keeping the side of postmodernism. Also named turquoise blue bamboo, it is composed of 8 parts of 8 floors for prosperity and abundance. An ornament has been placed: ancient Chinese coins are on each side of the 26th floor of the building and are visible from the outside, a symbol of wealth.
