Based in Cancun, just off the Yucatan Peninsula, Museo Subacuático de Arte is one of Mexico's best-known art museums. This underwater cultural relic is famous for its rich collection of sculptures. These are carefully located in three separate galleries, about 6 m to the bottom of the ocean. The museum has been designed to delight all lovers of art and snorkeling. It is also dedicated to conservation art, and the site corresponds to a non-profit organization. The MUSA covers an area of 420 m2 and houses up to 500 life-size sculptures, all weighing more than 200 tons. Every statue and other collection in this underwater universe is made of marine concrete, and this is to promote the creation of corals in this spectacular environment. The Museo Subacuático de Arte offers a picturesque scenic landscape with its original compositions, illustrating the coexistence between art and environmental sciences. ◄
