Punta Mogotes is a rocky formation by the sea. While La Laguna de los Padres is a natural lake surrounded by cliffs. Nearby stands the Torreón del Monje, a small tower resembling a castle.
Mar del Plata has 47 km of coastline with many beaches. Sailing, surfing and fishing are among the most popular water activities. You can also practice kayaking, jet skiing, kitesurfing and scuba diving. The long beaches welcome swimming and beach games for families. The quieter and less crowded ones are south of the lighthouse. A beautiful seafront borders the city for several kilometers.
La Rambla is an iconic pedestrian promenade with the Casino and sculptures of sea lions. Nearby, the port has a reserve where you can observe real sea lions.
