The Hamamatsu Castle dates back to the 16th century. It is the iconic building of the city. Visitors can tour its restored ramparts, moats, and gardens. The Ryotanji Temple has creaky floors to warn of intruders. Its remarkable gardens take inspiration from Lake Hamana among others.
