For the great adventurers, a descent to the natural slides of the Ribeirao do Meio is necessary. It is a hike, but as the name suggests, the slippery wall of one of the waterfalls is trendy. Indeed, it is possible to slide for several dozen meters before arriving in a large pool of water, which is ideal for swimming. In addition, this is a relatively quiet area to relax.
On the side of the southern region of the Chapada Diamantina, the Buracao waterfall is quite impressive to see. Again, tourists have to walk a little, but it's quite a different trail because the route is in the middle of a vast canyon, accompanied by a massive well. However, it is highly recommended to be accompanied by a guide to access the zone. If this trip is not enough, the Pai Inácio trail that leads to an impressive 100-meter waterfall will do the trick. The route involves jumping over rocks throughout the walk, making it sporty. Also, it is possible to camp in nature if a few want to explore other waterfalls along the way.
Then, heading to Poço Encantado and Poço Azul is a must. These parts of the park are renowned for their postcard-worthy scenery. Indeed, the views are fantastic. The natural pools are unique places to relax. Nevertheless, it is essential to note that swimming in the Poço Azul is only allowed, not the Poço Encantado.
Another thing to notice in Chapada Diamantina National Park is the caves of Lapa Doce and Pratinha. Travelers can admire thousand-year-old stalactite and stalagmite formations in the limestone rooms. After visiting the caves, it is highly recommended to dive into the turquoise waters of Pratinha or go ziplining. ◄
