The commune of Tizi Ouzou is home to about twenty protected historical sites and monuments. Right in the heart of the city is the Turkish Bordj. It is a heritage erected around the beginning of the 18th century, testifying to the Turkish period in Tizi Ouzou. A bit further north, discover the remains of the House of the Ath Aci. A French military engineer built this building during the 19th century.
Built during the colonial period and inaugurated in 1896, the Tizi Ouzou City Hall introduces you to a classic architectural style. The building has remained almost in its original state until today. To learn more about the city's history and culture, visit the National Mujahid Museum.
