Located in the heart of Paris, the spacious “Louvre Palace” houses the largest collection of ancient and modern art in Europe and the largest private collection in the world. The glass pyramid, which currently forms the main entrance to the museum, was built to break the monotony of the Louvre’s exterior facade. The Louvre Palace was built in 1411 as a result of a dispute between King Louis XIV of France and his brother-in-law King Henry IV.
