Conducted by Colombian-born Ana Maria Patino-Osorio, prize-winner at the 2024 Malko Competition in Copenhagen, the Orchestre national Montpellier Occitanie presents a fiery programme under the title "Terres de feu" (Lands of Fire) at the Opéra Comédie in Montpellier.
Violin soloist Leonhard Baumgartner, a young Viennese prodigy and winner of the Eurovision Young Musicians 2024, takes the stage for Brahms's Violin Concerto. The orchestra then journeys to Argentina with Ginastera's ballet suite Estancia, before igniting the hall with Stravinsky's The Firebird Suite.
Two performances are scheduled: Friday 16 October at 20:00 and Saturday 17 October at 19:00. Duration is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes with an interval.
