YASMINE HAMDAN: Lebanese Electronic Pop Concert

Yasmine Hamdan is a trailblazer of Beirut's underground music scene, rising to prominence in the early 2000s as one half of the electro trip-hop duo Soap Kills. She broke through to French audiences with her self-titled debut solo album in 2012, and gained wider international recognition through her performance of 'Hal' in Jim Jarmusch's 2014 film Only Lovers Left Alive.

Her music weaves together Arabic dialects and sonic textures, drawing on classical forms such as the muwashshah and the tarweedeh — an encrypted verse tradition historically used by Palestinian women — and recasting them within a modern, resistant framework. Her work is shaped by the enduring upheavals of her homeland, balancing anguish, fury and poetic militancy.

In 2025, Hamdan released her third solo album, described as a haunting and emotionally overwhelming immersion inspired by the chaos of the contemporary world.

For this concert, she is joined by Cédric Le Roux on guitar, Cong-Minh Pham on keyboards, and Raphaël Séguinier on drums.
