For its fifth runway appearance, 1ER MAI presents a collection centred on water as a symbol of both life and destruction. The theme speaks to human fragility and our deep connection to nature, with survival, resilience and adaptability as guiding concepts.
True to the brand's ethos, every piece is made from recovered materials transformed through artisanal techniques including weaving, patchwork, quilting, macramรฉ and beading โ celebrating craft as an act of resistance.
Designer Ysaline Lannes graduated from Cรฉgep Marie-Victorin's fashion design programme in 2014 and founded 1ER MAI in 2021. Her work has been recognised by the City of Montrรฉal, the Conseil des mรฉtiers d'art du Quรฉbec and mmode.
