In the bustling Manhattan district, two splendid mirrored pools have been installed on the site of the former twin towers. Visitors will find the names of those who were missing in the attacks on the World Trade Center, Pentagon and Shanksville towers. A total of 2,977 entries are in memory of people who lost their lives during these events. The memorial is surrounded by an esplanade of nearly 400 trees where it is housed in the Survivor Tree, a tree that survived the collapses and fires caused by the attack. ◄
