These populations have been able to adapt to the harsh climate of this region and demonstrate great ingenuity in their way of life. The local cuisine, which includes dishes made from these crops and meats, is a must-try for any visitor.
The Tatas somba of Natitingou is one of the most famous attractions in Atakora. These are tiny houses in the shape of mini-fortified castles that appear as a cluster of red earth huts with a thatched roof.
