The capital of Egypt, located at the crossroads of Africa and the Middle East, Cairo attracts visitors with its history that has marked the whole world.
Nicknamed the City of a Thousand Minarets, Cairo is also known to be crossed by the Nile. The Giza plateau near the city makes it the main attraction. Next to the pyramids, Kephren and Mykerinos is the pyramid of Cheops which is the last wonder of the ancient world. Just in front is the Sphinx of Giza, the largest ancient statue in the world. Enthusiasts of ancient Egypt enjoy visiting the Cairo Museum, which has more than 160,000 pieces, including Tutankhamun's Tomb. Still, under construction, the Great Egyptian Museum will be in the shape of five hundred-meter spires towards the pyramids of Giza, which are less than three kilometers away. Old Islamic Cairo is a real gold mine. You will find the oldest mosque in the city and the oldest Islamic monument in the country, the Ibn Tulun Mosque. But also those in the name of Al-Rifai and Hassan located side by side and separated by a narrow street. In front of these, we come across the Citadel of Saladin perched on a hill that offers us a stunning view of the city. Finally, head to the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar to soak up the atmosphere of a souk. The place has undergone many modernizations and welcomes passers-by with stalls with spicy scents and flamboyant colors.
