Chenonceau Castle
Chenonceau, castles of the Loire, embodies a royal residence of international renown.
Located in France, Chenonceau Castle is a sublime 15th-century building partially built on the river Cher. The French gardens Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de Medici stretch from their colorful parterre on the riverbanks. To get from one bank to the other, take the long gallery of the castle, formerly the ballroom used for receptions. From the outside, you can admire the light facades of the Tower of The Marques, a remnant of the ancient medieval castle which belonged to the family of the same name. At his side, the Body of Renaissance Houses is sublimely reflected in the waters it overlooks. Inside, renaissance furniture and 16th-century Flanders tapestries adorn the rooms of François I and Gabrielle d'Estrée, among others. Enhance your visit with a few colors as you enter the Louis XIV lounge, with purple tones and the dark-colored Louise de Lorraine room. To get from one bank to the other, take the long gallery of the castle, formerly the ballroom used for receptions.
