The Cité du Vin is a museum with emblematic architecture dedicated to wine and aimed at the enhancement of this French but also world heritage! Having become a symbolic place in the Bordeaux region, the Cité du Vin will make you discover wine in all its facets. On the 2nd floor, you will find the heart of the museum, namely the permanent route. An interactive audio guide called "travel companion" will be given to you. It is available in several languages but above all it triggers automatically every step of the way. Temporary exhibitions are located on the 1st floor as well as a reading room and tasting workshops. But it doesn't stop there, the belvedere on the 8th floor will give you a stunning view of the city of Bordeaux. Once there, you can take part in a tasting of world wines. With its educational workshops, the Cité du Vin is also a place suitable for families and children.
How many wine references are there within the Cité du Vin? On your way to the Latitude20 bar on the ground floor, you will find more than 14,000 bottles of wine from 80 different producing countries, representing more than 800 wine references.
Who is the architect of the Cité du Vin? Two architects, Anouk Legendre and Nicolas Desmazières, designed the Cité du Vin. The idea behind this 55-metre-high building was to represent the movement and the gnarled vine.
