After this visit, the Chateau de Puymartin is an excellent choice. It was built in the thirteenth century, and it is here that the famous legend of the White Lady was born. That said, apart from the somewhat dark side of this story, this fort is of great beauty, with the ancient furniture, tapestries, and paintings exceptionally well preserved.

For history buffs, there is also the Jardin des Arènes, which was set up on the site of the ancient Roman arena - it is said that it could accommodate up to 20,000 spectators.
In the Dordogne, it is impossible not to make a detour to the Lascaux grottos. Located in Montignac, this cavern houses an impressive number of representations of cave art. Nevertheless, it should be noted that the original one suffered many irreversible degradations caused by mass tourism. Today, reconstruction offers a real journey through time through traditions and prehistoric art.
For lovers of greenery, the gardens of Marqueyssac are what they need. The agency of the spaces is incredible, with the various species and fruit trees. In addition, around the 1990s, a rehabilitation of the gardens was carried out with water paths, waterfalls and other rosemary alleys. Apart from the splendor of this garden, budding ornithologists will find happiness observing the peacocks, these magnificent birds who have found refuge there. ◄
