From Detroit to Montrรฉal II is a two-part cultural event dedicated to the heritage of Detroit house and techno, built around conversation, transmission, and live performance. The second edition centres on Delano Smith, one of the founding pillars of Detroit's dance music scene.
Active since the late 1970s, Delano Smith developed a distinctive style that blends progressive, tech-soul, and deeply emotional electronic music. He is widely recognised as a direct influence on key figures such as Derrick May, Jeff Mills, and Juan Atkins, making him one of the most defining artists in the history of electronic music.
The event takes place on Saturday, September 12 at 15:00 EDT at the Society for Arts and Technology (SAT) in Montrรฉal, Quรฉbec.
