The Big Band de l'UdeM, the jazz ensemble of the Faculté de musique de l'Université de Montréal, presents an evening dedicated to the legacy of the Count Basie Orchestra. The programme revisits tracks from the iconic album Basie Straight Ahead, celebrating the driving, rhythmic swing style that made Basie one of the defining voices of big band jazz.
Presented as a guest production (Producteur invité) at Théâtre Outremont, this concert offers an opportunity to hear the classic Basie repertoire performed by one of Montréal's leading academic jazz ensembles.
