A cruise on the Yellow Water river is a must. This warm river winds through mangrove forests. During the cruise, keep an eye out for the iconic fauna: crocodiles, snakes, birds including the famous jabiru.
Don't miss the majestic Twin Falls either. These waterfalls flowing over orange rock walls are a major attraction. You'll be able to swim there safely.
Other mythical waterfalls await adventurous visitors with a 4WD vehicle. Jim Jim Falls is an imposing waterfall surrounded by sandstone cliffs. The superb Gunlom Waterfall allows for a swim with an exceptional panoramic view.
To better understand the local Aboriginal culture, stop at the Warradjan Cultural Centre. Let the Elders guide you through their traditions, songs and dances.
Two major rock art sites are Nourlangie and Ubirr. At Nourlangie, follow the trail to discover fascinating paintings of traditional past life. At Ubirr, climb up to the viewpoint to admire the superb panorama over the Nadab floodplain.
End your day with a fabulous sunset from the Nawurlandja lookout. A unique view over the floodplains and steep cliffs.
