Lavender May presents a sweeping retrospective show celebrating over twenty years of her creative journey. The programme features handmade couture pieces, stage costumes, wearable sculptures and revitalised vintage garments, tracing her artistic evolution in a high-fashion, musical and poetic setting.
The show is also a humanitarian project: the pieces in the collection will be auctioned to raise funds for children who are victims of human trafficking, in support of their liberation, protection and healing.
The performance is conceived as a multisensory experience, with an original soundscape entirely created by Lavender May herself. The evening culminates with the world premiere live performance of her very first original composition.
Born Lavender May (Marie-Sophie Rondeau), the Montreal-based designer and multidisciplinary artist has been a fixture of Montreal's entertainment scene for over a decade, with credits including tours in Europe, television appearances and performances at iconic venues such as the Olympic Stadium and the Olympia de Montrรฉal alongside Dita Von Teese.
