The Viking Ship Museum takes visitors back to the "Viking Age." It is entirely devoted to their stories, especially their boats. It is located on the Bygdoy Peninsula, west of Oslo, and stands alongside other sites, such as the Fram Museum. Of all the wonders in its collection, the museum is best known for the "Viking of Oseberg." This ship, built in 820, was used as a burial or "tomb ship." Skeletons of two women were found there when it was discovered in the twentieth century. Gokstad's boat and Tune's boat also anchor in the museum. Their contents are carefully preserved. Various objects are exhibited to get an idea of the daily life of the Normans, Accompanying these ancient maritime constructions. Carts, beds, wooden sculptures, sleighs, buckets, and even funeral furniture all fill the bowels of the place. ◄
