Bambi er tilbage returns to Nørrebro Teater for a revival premiere in December 2026, following an original run that sold over 20,000 tickets and played to consistently sold-out audiences. The production runs Monday through Saturday with varying start times: 19:00 on Monday through Thursday (with an exception on Thursday 17 December at 17:00), 17:00 on Fridays, and 15:00 on Saturdays.
The performance, created by the interdisciplinary studio How to Kill a Dog (HTKAD), examines modern motherhood through the lens of Felix Salten's 1923 classic Bambi: A Life in the Woods. The story follows Bambi and her family as they settle near an amusement park built on former forest land, where the mother slowly unravels under the pressure of love, care, self-sacrifice, and societal expectations.
On stage is Emma Sehested Høeg, with the visual and dramaturgical world shaped by set designer Petruska Miehe-Renard and director Jennifer Vedsted Christiansen. The production features newly composed music by Emma Sehested Høeg, performed live by the string ensemble Who Killed Bambi.
How to Kill a Dog was founded in 2019 by Jennifer Vedsted Christiansen and Emma Sehested Høeg.
