Mōnad is a solo hip-hop dance work performed by Alexandra 'Spicey' Landé, a leading figure in Quebec's hip-hop dance scene. The piece takes its name from the ancient Greek word monas, meaning 'unity', evoking the image of a self-sufficient single-celled organism that carries multiple universes within itself.
Rooted in hip-hop culture and essential physical material, Spicey shapes a space in constant mutation — where matter and sound are created, distorted, and transformed through ongoing interaction. The work raises questions about interconnected worlds and the nature of eternity.
Mōnad is presented at Agora de la danse in Montreal over three evenings: September 30, October 1, and October 2, 2026, all starting at 19:00. Tickets are available through the Tuxedo Billet platform.
