Rita Payés returns to Copenhagen on November 8th, this time gracing Store VEGA alongside her fellow Spanish musician Lucía Fumero, who joins her as pianist and guitarist. Payés is a Spanish singer, songwriter and trombonist whose music fuses jazz, bolero, bossa nova and pop into romantic, melancholic songs rooted in her Catalan heritage.
Her previous Copenhagen appearance at DR Koncerthuset in November 2025 earned a maximum six-star rating from GAFFA, whose reviewer praised the concert as "perfectly organized, virtuoso and intimate." Her 2024 album De camino al camino prompted English outlet The Line of Best Fit to call her "one of Europe's most captivating voices", and her 2021 album Like the Skin was named best Latin Album of the year by American NPR.
Payés grew up in a musical household, joined the prestigious Sant Andreu Jazz Band as a teenager, and released her debut solo album Imagine in 2019 — a collection of Spanish-language anthems recorded with her mother, classical guitarist Elisabeth Roma. She has since built a devoted international following through her ability to weave tradition and modernity into her songwriting.
