Leenalchi are a South Korean band whose music is rooted in pansori — a traditional Korean form of musical storytelling sung in an ancient version of the Korean language — and filtered through new wave elements, hypnotic bass hooks, bubbling synths and funky rhythms. The unusual lineup of two bassists, drums, keyboards and four vocalists gives their sound a uniquely powerful and layered quality.
