Manfred Mann's Earth Band returns to Denmark for another sold-out night at Amager Bio, the venue that has become their established Copenhagen home base and a gathering point for their Danish fanbase.
Manfred Mann's career spans more than six decades. Born in Johannesburg in 1940 and active on the British music scene since 1962, he became one of the most prominent hitmakers of the 1960s with his first band — second only to The Beatles in number of UK chart hits. In 1971, he formed Manfred Mann's Earth Band, drawing on progressive rock, jazz influences, and a British tradition echoed by acts like Cream and Traffic.
The band quickly established themselves as some of rock's most creative interpreters, building new classics from songs by artists including Bruce Springsteen and Bob Dylan. Their cover of Springsteen's 'Blinded by the Light' stands as one of their most iconic moments. Hits such as 'Do Wah Diddy Diddy', 'Sha La La', and 'The Mighty Quinn' have cemented their place as one of the most influential progressive rock bands across five decades.
In more recent years, the band has explored a more soul-rock-influenced direction, attracting both new listeners and longtime devotees. As the band consistently plays to full houses at Amager Bio, tickets are expected to sell quickly.
