Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region

This remote mountainous region encompasses nearly half of Tajikistan's territory and contains some of the world's highest peaks, including parts of the Pamir Mountains. Known as the 'Roof of the World,' it offers spectacular landscapes, ancient Silk Road routes, and unique Pamiri culture. The region provides access to pristine alpine lakes, including the stunning Karakul Lake, and serves as a gateway for high-altitude trekking adventures.
