The playful name of the Poisson/Buffle company says it all: a world truly of its own, moving freely between hip-hop, contemporary dance, contact, krump and house. "My work on movement is about melting different styles together to bring out a hybrid dance, and this piece follows directly from that," explains its director, François Lamargot, about Pulse. Created in 2021 and a standout at the 2025 Avignon Off Festival, the piece takes aim at the demands for performance and profit that eat away at today's capitalist world, obsessed with "always more." "Beyond any one technique, I'm looking at how the body can carry many emotions at once, sketch distinct inner profiles and their very different ways of reacting," he adds.

On stage, seven performers in everyday clothes pour out relentless, unbridled energy. Through acrobatic feats and rhythmic duels, their forces come together as much as they clash. The group keeps reshaping itself, at times a single tight block, yet never stopping one dancer or another from taking the upper hand. Intensely physical and driven by an irresistible momentum, Pulse lets us feel, from the inside, the competitive fever of our era — and the toll it takes on the body.
