アトランティック・ロード

小さな島々を劇的な橋で結ぶ壮大な8.3kmの道路で、息を呑むような海の景色が楽しめます。建築美で有名です。

The Atlantic Road, known in Norwegian as Atlanterhavsveien, is a road of about 8.3 kilometres that links a chain of small islands off the coast of Averøy, in the county of Møre og Romsdal in western Norway. It is a route as much as a destination: the drive itself is the attraction, with the open ocean close on both sides.

What sets the road apart is its bridges. Several dramatic spans carry the traffic from island to island, and their shapes give the road its architectural reputation. Between them, the views stretch across the water, so the scenery changes with every stretch of the crossing.

What a visit offers

  • A scenic drive over a series of bridges and small islands
  • Wide views of the Atlantic coastline, especially from the bridges
  • A chance to stop at points along the road and take in the landscape on foot

The road is a fitting choice for visitors who enjoy coastal landscapes and engineering that sits comfortably within its setting. Because the road is short, it can be combined easily with other plans in the area, and the surrounding region of Averøy and Møre og Romsdal gives visitors more to explore beyond the crossing.

Getting there

The Atlantic Road is located on Averøy, with the postal address Averøy, 6534 Averøy, Norway. Visitors should check current road conditions before setting out, as weather on this exposed coast can change quickly.
