Rooted in the Gnawa tradition and steeped in Afro-Moroccan sound, Boulila centres the guembri โ the three-stringed bass lute โ as the structural and spiritual backbone of the ensemble's universe.
The performance is built on improvisation and communal trance, weaving together the spiritual heritage of Gnawa ritual with a contemporary energy that opens the tradition to new audiences.
