Macbeth - Yannick Nézet-Séguin (Opera Concert)

Yannick Nézet-Séguin brings the 49th Festival de Lanaudière to a close with a concert performance of Verdi's Macbeth, just weeks before he leads a new staged production of the same opera at the Metropolitan Opera. The programme features the full opera in concert version, running approximately 2 hours and 35 minutes with intermission.

The cast is led by baritone Étienne Dupuis in the title role, alongside soprano Saioa Hernández as Lady Macbeth. Bass Alexandros Stavrakakis sings Banquo, tenor Matthew Cairns takes the role of Macduff, and tenor Owen McCausland portrays Malcolm. Additional roles are filled by Geoffroy Salvas, Elizabeth Polese, and Vartan Gabrielian.

The Orchestre Métropolitain and Chœur Métropolitain provide orchestral and choral support under Nézet-Séguin's baton. This follows his acclaimed Festival de Lanaudière outings with Aida and Tristan und Isolde in previous editions.

Tickets are priced from $35 to $165 (taxes and fees included) and are available through the Festival de Lanaudière. The concert takes place at the open-air Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay in Joliette, Quebec.
