Mutations et Incarnations

Mutations et Incarnations is an evening of contemporary dance that weaves together three distinct solo works, offering an embodied journey through movement, identity, and imagination. The programme lasts 1h30 with an intermission, and portions are performed in English with French subtitles.

Margie Gillis — a landmark figure of Canadian dance with over 150 works and more than 50 years of career — opens the evening with a brand-new creation celebrating freedom, creativity, and the strength of women through movement (7 min).

Nicholas Bellefleur presents A Constellation of One (15 min), revisiting his foundational experience playing Le Petit Prince twenty years ago. This speculative choreographic work imagines a single body navigating multiple temporal states, caught between contemplation and release, framed as a kind of 'living science fiction'.

Liam Francis (UK) closes with Lyre Liar (45 min), a hybrid solo blending performance and lecture-demonstration. Drawing on excerpts from works by Merce Cunningham, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, and Kate Prince, Francis traces his artistic journey with honesty and vulnerability, exploring the shifting identities of the professional dancer.

Tickets are priced at $52 (taxes and fees included), with a youth rate available. The event is presented by Festival Quartiers Danses.
