Osciller entre is an evening of contemporary dance bringing together four distinct choreographic voices in a single programme. Japanese artist Yasushi Kurotaki presents Moonrise (15 min), a solo drawn from the Japanese myth of Obasute, delving into themes of aging, memory, human bonds, and abandonment through a singular body language developed from his mime training in Tokyo.
Hongkonger Ji Jie offers Recursion (13 min), a duet that reframes intimate relationships as power games governed by a win-or-lose logic. Drawing on her own childhood traumas, the work transforms personal pain into a repetitive, cathartic choreographic language that seeks reconciliation with oneself and with others.
Naomi Gwynn's LADY (20 min) addresses the contradictions of femininity and coming of age with both humour and lucidity. Combining movement, dialogue fragments, and tragicomedy inspired by Samuel Beckett, the piece critiques the resurgence of 'traditional woman' ideals in popular culture, oscillating between vulnerability and resistance.
Jason Martin / ENTITEY closes with BODY / STRUCTURE (15 min), a work exploring the space between presence and disappearance where a body in constant transformation becomes simultaneously structure and instability. Choreographed and performed by Martin, the piece blurs boundaries to produce a fragile, shifting state of tension.
The performance takes place on September 16, 2026 at 20:00 at Cinquième Salle, with a running time of 1 hour 20 minutes including an intermission. Tickets are priced at $49 (taxes and fees included), with a youth rate also available.
