Mount Ngauruhoe
An active stratovolcano and the youngest of the three major peaks in Tongariro National Park, famous for its perfect cone shape and role as Mount Doom in Lord of the Rings films. Last erupted in 1975 and remains one of New Zealand's most recognizable volcanoes.
