Now in its 9th edition, Mama Stock is a free, family-friendly festival held each August at Parc Montcalm in Montpellier. Born in 2017 from a tradition of neighbourhood parties and popular celebrations, it regularly draws between 12,000 and 15,000 visitors over its run. The festival's ethos centres on living together, democratising culture, and supporting regional artists, all while remaining entirely free of charge.
The 2026 programme spans three days. Thursday 27 August opens with Expo Anagraphis and Expo Dรฉcouverte in the chill-out space (12:00โ18:00), followed by Sophie les Bas Bleus on the main stage at 19:00 โ a group mixing accordion, rap and rock โ and closing with Pizzetto DJ Set at 21:00 on the main stage.
Friday 28 August features Arlette Ton Cirque on the esplanade at 15:00, Expo Dรฉcouverte and Expo Anagraphis in the chill-out (12:00โ18:00), Corner Dub on the DJ stage from 17:00 to 22:00, Dizzy Sounds on the main stage at 18:00, Anzul Project feat. Rabie Houti at 20:00, and Shazalakazoo closing the night at 22:00 on the main stage.
Saturday 29 August includes Expo Dรฉcouverte and Expo Anagraphis (12:00โ18:00), Fanfare on the esplanade at 15:00, Corner Dub on the DJ stage from 17:00 to 22:00, La Cercleuse on the main stage at 18:00, Melan at 20:00, and Soom T DJ Set closing at 22:00.
Beyond concerts, the festival offers spectacles, a fanfare, art exhibitions, live painting, and an Espace Kidz for children. The site is located in the middle of Parc Montcalm, with the main entrance at 11 rue des Chasseurs, 34070 Montpellier, and secondary entrances on rue Foncouverte and avenue de Toulouse. Opening hours are 19:00 to midnight on Thursday, and 12:00 to midnight on Friday and Saturday.
