This mural by Laurent Gascon sits on the wall at 1970 rue Ontario Est, on the stretch between rue Dorion and rue Bordeaux in Montreal's Ville-Marie borough. It was created in 2011 and is one of the street-art works in the city's public mural collection.
What to expect
The work was produced under the Programme graffitis et murales, with the Société pour Promouvoir les Arts Gigantesques (SPAG) taking part in its creation. It is a large-scale piece on a building wall, so it is best seen on foot, from the sidewalk across the street, where you can take in its full size and the surrounding streetscape.
Making a visit
- Location: rue Ontario Est, between rue Dorion and rue Bordeaux, Ville-Marie
- Type of visit: a short, outdoor stop that can be done on foot at any time
- More information: the City of Montreal's mural listing, available on the city's website
Because the mural is outdoors, it is open to view at all times, and it pairs well with a walk through the surrounding neighbourhood. Ville-Marie is the core of the city, with its streets, cafés and shops close by, so the mural can easily be part of a longer afternoon of exploring downtown Montreal.
