This mural at 1635 rue Darling is a piece of street art in Montreal, Canada, on a building in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve borough on the city's east side. It is listed in the city's public art records under the name "Murale située au 1635, rue Darling".
About the work
The mural was created in 2016 by Atelier Nayan and Nelson Béguin together with community members. It was produced under the city's Programme d'art mural (volet 2), a mural art programme run by the City of Montreal, and it was made for La Table de quartier Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, a local neighbourhood roundtable. Its origin in a collective process means it reflects the people who took part in making it as well as the two artists credited.
Visiting
This is a visit for anyone interested in public art and neighbourhood life. Because it is a street mural, you can see it from the street at any hour, and there is no admission to pay or entry to arrange.
