This is a street-art mural by the artist Curiot, created in 2015 at the northwest corner of Sherbrooke and Jeanne-Mance in the Ville-Marie borough of Montreal. It was organized by MURAL under the city's pilot mural art project, and its creation was funded through the cultural development agreement between the City of Montreal and the Government of Quebec.
What to expect
Please note that this mural is no longer visible, so a visit to the corner will not show the artwork itself. The location remains of interest to anyone following Montreal's public art history, since it was part of a programme that brought murals to city walls during those years.
Around the site
- The corner sits in Ville-Marie, the central borough of Montreal, where much of the city's downtown life unfolds.
- Sherbrooke and Jeanne-Mance are both busy streets, so the area is easy to combine with a walk through the surrounding neighbourhood.
- Montreal's wider street-art scene, shaped in part by projects like this one, offers many other murals to seek out across the city.
For details on the mural's records, the City of Montreal maintains an online page dedicated to the work.
