The French Southern and Antarctic Lands (Terres australes et antarctiques françaises) is an overseas collectivity of France comprising several remote island groups in the southern Indian Ocean and a claim in Antarctica. The territory includes the Crozet Islands, Kerguelen Islands, Amsterdam and Saint Paul Islands, plus the Adélie Land sector of Antarctica, serving primarily as scientific research stations and wildlife reserves.
