Bach's Goldberg Variations, originally composed for harpsichord, have been reimagined across countless transcriptions over the centuries, each one shedding new light on the work's intricate architecture. In this arrangement for string trio, the thirty variations unfold with a polyphony naturally suited to the voices of violin, viola, and cello.
Violin Andrew Wan, violist Victor Fournelle-Blain, and cellist Anna Burden bring complementary tonal qualities to one of the most celebrated works in the Western repertoire, highlighting the clarity and warmth unique to string instruments.
The concert takes place at Notre-Dame-de-Bon-Secours Chapel in Old Montreal, as part of Festival Bach 2026.
