The town of "One Thousand & One windows"

Magic is real, you can feel it in the air. It is so old, over 2500 years old. It has a proper name, it's called Berat. The town is surrounded by hills and mountains, which gives the impression of a "Huge Amphitheater" where the "local gladiators" are living in peace with Mother Nature. Magic continues once you enter inside the Fortress overlooking the town, built by Illyrian Masters with big blocks of stone, which looks like a big "stage of a movie" from the ancient times. The locals are still living in their own little houses with small gardens where they grow fresh fruits and vegetables. Down the hill, the cobble street lead the way to the heart of the Magic, the Mangalemi neighborhood. This is a rare example of an architectural character typical of the Ottoman period. And then there's the The Medieval quarter, Gorica neighborhood with the stone bridge and more and more to visit in the town. I think I've said a lot, I don't like to ruin this magic, let's go and explore it together….

Cooking class with locals

Meeting with Dorian. Depart from the pier, from your hotel or your specified meeting place to reach the city of Elbasan. We will visit the old town situated inside the surrounding walls, the local refer it as "Kalaja" or just the Castle. Later we head to the green market of the city to buy all fresh ingredients for our cooking lesson. Than to the local house, let the party start. . . Cooking & Lunch time at the family. Late afternoon drive back to your Place.

Kruja Castle, the stronghold of Scanderbeg and his Albanians

Meet with Dorian. Depart from the pier/ hotel or your specified meeting place to reach the city of Kruje. We start a walking tour of the old town, old Bazaar and the Castle of Scanderbeg. At this place we may visit a local artisan shop where a man will show us how they make slippers and fez using simple thinks and their golden hands. Continue with the rest of the Castle, visit the Scanderbeg and the Ethnographic museum. The Bektashi Tekke inside the Castle is another place of interest for us. Have you ever heard about the Bektashi order? We will get to know more about Bektashi during our visit at the Sari Saltik Holy Place. Late afternoon, we'll head back to the pier or your specified place.

Day trip to Bovilla Lake, Kruja Castle & Old Bazzar

During this day trip we will visit a manmade lake situated in the outskirts of Tirana. Terkuze river is the main source of water of this lake. Bovilla Canyon is another natural attraction. Both the lake and the canyon can be seen and enjoyed better from the balcony of the lake. It requires some short walking distance. The Castle of Kruja, the center of Skanderbeg's rebellion against the Ottoman Empire during the 15th century. The castle is an inhabited area, where locals are living at their houses since centuries ago. Museums of history and local culture are among the local houses inside the castle area. Kruja has one of the most authentic old bazaar where we may find antiques, souvenirs and handcrafts from the locals. More to say and explore on the site. . . .

Korca, "the little Paris" & Prespa Lake

During this day trip we will visit Korca city considered the largest in the southeast of the country and a very important cultural center. Due to the French cultural influence during the ww1, it has been called often as "the little Paris". As the home of National Museum of Education and more museums, it offers a lot to the visitors. It's not known only for the history and the culture, but also for a diverse culinary which makes it a special destination. Prespa lake is divided between the three countries. A local rumor says that always you have to carry a passport with you while you are swimming, you never know on which country shore you will be driven by the waves.

Visit the lovely Puka & Mrizi Zanave Farm

During this day trip we will visit the little town of Puka, situated on a plateau, surrounded by high mountains. A little lake formed recently, has given a warmer atmosphere to this little town situated over 800 meters above the sea level. The settlement is inhabited by the tribe of Puka one of the "seven tribes of Puka". Later the town was called Picaria… Today we will enjoy the visit to Mrizi I Zanave Farm, where we may have the chance to taste delicious local organic food cooked with love and care from the locals. Rafting in Osumi River Canyon & exploring Bogova Waterfall

During this day trip we will hike to Bogova waterfall. The water of this fall comes from the high mountain of Tomorr. During the spring and early summer, it has a lot of cold water and the base of it forms a big pool at the feet of the fall with turquoise water. The River Osum flows through the canyon with the same name. The river Gorge about 26 km long, is one of the most spectacular natural attractions of Albania. During the spring, high water from melting snow makes it possible to explore the whole length of the gorge from the river. Spring is also the best time to view the many waterfalls in the gorges. The locals like to tell many nice legends about the canyons and the events happened there such as the Legend of the Bride…
