Hautes-Pyrénées

Hautes-Pyrénées is a department in southwestern France, located in the Occitanie region along the border with Spain. It is renowned for being home to Lourdes, one of the world's most important Catholic pilgrimage sites, and contains much of the French Pyrenees mountains, including Pic du Midi and portions of the Pyrenees National Park. The department's capital is Tarbes, and the region is known for its dramatic mountain landscapes, thermal spas, and outdoor recreation opportunities.
