Ille-et-Vilaine

Ille-et-Vilaine is a department in the Brittany region of northwestern France, with Rennes as its capital and largest city. The department is known for its rich medieval heritage, including the historic walled city of Saint-Malo and numerous châteaux, as well as being home to one of France's major universities. It combines coastal attractions along the English Channel with inland agricultural areas and is an important economic center for the Brittany region.
