This mural by the artist MILLO stands at 168 avenue Mont-Royal Est, in the Le Plateau-Mont-Royal district of Montreal. It was created in 2018 and is one of the street-art works found along one of the city's best-known commercial streets.
About the work
The mural was produced in partnership with MU, an organization devoted to art in public space. It was carried out through the city's Programme d'art mural (volet 1), which is funded under the cultural development agreement between the City of Montreal and the Government of Quebec. That programme is one reason Montreal's walls have become such a visible part of its street life.
Why visit
This is a visit for anyone interested in public art and the city's neighbourhoods. Mont-Royal Est is lined with cafés, shops and everyday streetscapes, so a stop in front of the mural fits easily into a walk through the area. You can see the work as part of the street rather than as a separate destination.
