This mural at 360 rue Laurier Est, in the Le Plateau-Mont-Royal district of Montreal, is a piece of street art made in 2011. It was painted by Richard Morin, Annie Hamel, Florence April-Borgeat, Olivier Roy and Nico, five artists who worked together on the wall.
About the work
The mural was produced under the city's Programme graffitis et murales, carried out in partnership with MU, an organisation that supports artistic projects in Montreal. Because it was made through a collaborative programme, it reflects the wider role that murals play in the city's public spaces, turning ordinary building walls into places to look at as you walk by.
Visiting the mural
The mural is best seen on foot, as part of a walk through the neighbourhood. It suits a short, unhurried stop rather than a long visit, and it makes a good addition to a day spent exploring Le Plateau-Mont-Royal.
