The Musée des Beaux-Arts de Dijon, also known in English as the Museum of Fine Arts Dijon, is one of France's major fine arts museums. It occupies the former Palace of the Dukes and Estates of Burgundy on the Place de la Sainte-Chapelle, in the historic centre of Dijon, the capital of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté region.
What to expect inside
The museum is known for its collections of medieval and Renaissance art, which give the visit a strong sense of the region's past. Because the building itself was once the seat of the Dukes of Burgundy, walking through its rooms is part of the experience, with the setting adding to the paintings, sculptures and objects on display.
