Orne

Orne is a department in the Normandy region of northwestern France, created in 1790 during the French Revolution. The department is known for its rural character, featuring rolling countryside, horse breeding, and the historic town of Alençon, famous for its traditional lace-making. Orne also contains part of the Perche natural region and is recognized for its agricultural heritage, particularly cattle farming and cider production.
