Vienne

Vienne is a department in west-central France, located in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region and named after the Vienne River that flows through it. The department is known for its rich historical heritage, including numerous Romanesque churches, medieval castles, and the famous Futuroscope theme park near its capital city of Poitiers. It's also recognized for its agricultural production, particularly goat cheese, and its role in French history as the former capital of the ancient province of Poitou.
