Himachal Pradesh

Estado montañoso famoso por estaciones de montaña como Shimla y Manali, deportes de aventura y paisajes himalayas pintorescos. Popular para lunas de miel y senderismo.

Himachal Pradesh is a mountain state in northern India, set in the Himalayas. Its landscapes of high ridges, deep valleys and snow-capped peaks give it a character quite unlike the plains further south. The state is also known as Dev Bhoomi, or Land of Gods, a name that reflects how strongly the mountains shape its identity.

What the state offers

Himachal Pradesh is best known for its hill stations. Shimla and Manali are the two names most visitors encounter first, each offering a different pace and setting among the hills. Shimla suits travellers who enjoy strolling and taking in views of the surrounding ranges, while Manali is often chosen as a base for exploring the high country beyond it.

The region is also a favourite for adventure sports and trekking. The scenery is varied enough that a visit can be as gentle or as demanding as you like, from easy walks through pine-covered slopes to longer routes into the mountains.

Who the trip suits

The state is a popular choice for honeymoons, thanks to its quiet hill towns, scenic views and slower rhythm. It equally suits anyone who wants to spend time outdoors, whether that means trekking, taking on adventure activities or simply enjoying the Himalayan landscape from a comfortable base.

Planning a visit

  • Choose Shimla for a classic hill station atmosphere and easy access to mountain views.
  • Choose Manali if you plan to use the town as a starting point for treks and outdoor activities.
  • Allow time to move between places, since travel through mountain roads takes longer than the map suggests.
