Cinderella is a classical ballet production choreographed by Jayne Smeulders, carried by Prokofiev's radiant score and inspired by both the Brothers Grimm's tale and Charles Perrault's version. The production follows Cinderella as she escapes a life of hardship under a cruel stepmother and jealous stepsisters when her fairy godmother transforms her destiny.
First met with great enthusiasm at its 2023 premiere, this production returns to the stage with enchanted sets, sparkling costumes, and a mix of magic, humour, and emotion that speaks to audiences of all ages.
The ballet is performed with the accompaniment of the Grands Ballets Orchestra, an ensemble of 55 highly skilled musicians and soloists with over 30 years of service to the company.
Performances take place at 14:00 and 20:00 from February 24 to 28, 2027, at Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier, Place des Arts.
